IHSG Extends Rally Despite Continued Foreign Outflows
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — Foreign investors recorded a net sell on Wednesday (5/8/2026), although the value was significantly smaller compared to previous days. The selling action, however, did not prevent the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) from closing half a per cent higher.
Based on Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) data, foreign investors posted a net sell of Rp182.8 billion across all markets.
Despite this, the IHSG managed to close 31.53 points or 0.50% higher at 6,351.14. The transaction value reached Rp14.91 trillion with a trading volume of 39.26 billion shares in 2.316 million transactions. A total of 422 stocks advanced, 223 declined, and 318 remained unchanged.
Selling pressure from foreign investors was concentrated on large-cap stocks. PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (TLKM) was the most sold stock with a net value of Rp157.9 billion. It was followed by PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk. (TPIA) at Rp138 billion, PT Astra International Tbk. (ASII) at Rp84.9 billion, and PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BBRI) at Rp84.4 billion.
