IHSG Ends Lower Today, Plunges 3.46% to 6,370.68

The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) closed lower on Tuesday, 19 May 2026, finishing down 228.56 points, or 3.46 percent, at 6,370.68. During the session the index traded in a range of 6,323.26 to 6,635.13, with an opening level of 6,599.21. According to Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) data, trading volume reached 43.26 billion shares, with a turnover of 2.774 million trades.

Market breadth was negative, with 117 stocks edging higher, 647 falling and 195 unchanged. The local indices also closed in the red: LQ45 fell 2.5 percent to 634.82, KOMPAS100 declined 3.55 percent to 843.28, and the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) dropped 4.31 percent to 410.15.

Sector-wise, the biggest drop was in the basic materials sector, down 7.30 percent to 1,727.44, followed by the transportation sector down 6.58 percent to 1,877.40. Meanwhile, the financial sector slipped 2.07 percent to 1,305.38, the infrastructure sector down 4.13 percent to 1,917.35. The property sector fell 1.88 percent to 859.07, the industrial sector declined 4.54 percent to 1,770.34, and the technology sector eased 0.74 percent to 7,179.57.
