IHSG Closes with Slight Gain, Held Back by GOTO Shares; Check 3 Shining Stocks in LQ45
The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) closed in positive territory, though the gain was lower than in the first session. The IHSG strengthened by 0.22% or 15.15 points to 6,971.95 at the end of trading on Monday, 4 May 2026. Based on observations from Stockbit, the IHSG tended to move sideways throughout the second trading session. The index briefly surged to 7,067 at the start of the session but corrected back to the opening level. The transaction value reached Rp 21.11 trillion, while the daily trading volume was 602.74 million shares. Trading activity among market participants was brisk, with 2.44 million transactions. Although the IHSG shone, the majority of stock sectors declined, led by a 1.63% drop in the healthcare sector. The technology sector weakened by 1.56%, transportation shrank by 1.52%, energy fell by 1.20%, finance eroded by 0.16%, and property dipped slightly by 0.01%. The cyclical consumer sector recorded the highest gain of 2.53%. The non-cyclical consumer sector soared 1.53%, infrastructure rose 0.96%, and industry strengthened 0.03%. Analysts from Phintraco Sekuritas stated that the IHSG had previously opened stronger, reaching 7,069. The index’s strengthening diminished, tending to move two ways in the second session. “The trigger for the IHSG’s weakening partly came from the correction in shares of PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) following the government’s official restriction via Presidential Regulation No. 27 of 2026 on maximum applicator discounts at 8%,” revealed Phintraco Sekuritas analysts in their daily research on Monday, 4 May 2026. According to Phintraco Sekuritas analysts, this condition sparked investor anxiety over the fundamental prospects of GOTO shares, as the policy is deemed capable of reducing the company’s revenue and margins. Several issuers managed to achieve the highest price jumps (top gainers) among blue-chip stocks (LQ45), including: PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk (AMRT) AMRT shares surged 7.95% or 105 points to 1,425. PT Mitra Adiperkasa Tbk (MAPI) MAPI shares strengthened 6.58% or 80 points to 1,295. PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk (JPFA) JPFA shares nailed 6.05% or 150 points, closing at 2,630.
