The Indonesia Composite Index (IHSG) closed in the red during trading on Wednesday (2/9/2026). The IHSG weakened slightly amidst market movements that tended to be volatile throughout the trading session.

Based on data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), the IHSG closed down 4.16 points or 0.06% to the level of 6,595.78. During the session, the index reached a high of 6,629.54 and a low of 6,561.00.

In today’s trading, the IHSG opened at the 6,625.39 level. Stock transaction value reached approximately Rp16.80 trillion, with a trading volume of 63.13 billion shares and a frequency of 2.44 million times.

A total of 296 stocks strengthened, 338 stocks weakened, while 329 other stocks remained stagnant.

Of the 11 sectors listed on the IDX, six ended in the green zone. The non-primary consumer sector was the largest gainer with an increase of 1.75%, followed by technology at 0.85% and finance at 0.77%.

Meanwhile, the greatest pressure came from the basic materials sector, which fell by 1.45%, followed by utilities, which weakened by 1.31%.

Among the stocks driving the index, PT DCI Indonesia Tbk (DCII) was the largest positive contributor with a contribution of 8.49 points, followed by PT Global Digital Niaga Tbk (BELI) at 5.91 points and PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) at 4.69 points.

Other stocks supporting the IHSG included Dian Swastatika Sentosa (DSSA) by 2.74 points, Olympus Strategic Indonesia (OLYM) by 2.50 points, and Bank Sinarmas (BSIM) by 1.38 points.

Conversely, several commodity and large-cap stocks acted as weights on the index. Bayan Resources (BYAN) was the largest drag with minus 4.33 points, followed by Amman Mineral Internasional (AMMN) at 3.59 points and Astra International (ASII) at 3.03 points.

Furthermore, Merdeka Gold Resources (EMAS) pressured the index by 2.72 points, Alamtri Resources Indonesia (ADRO) by 2.66 points, Barito Renewables Energy (BREN) by 2.47 points, and Bumi Resources Minerals (BRMS) by 2.37 points.

Meanwhile, foreign investors recorded a net sell in the Indonesian stock market during the first session. Nevertheless, banking stocks remained a target for foreign buying.

Based on Stockbit Securities data as of midday, foreign investors recorded a net sell of Rp379.67 billion across the entire market. Foreign buying value reached Rp2.47 trillion, while selling value reached Rp2.85 trillion.
