The Indonesia Composite Index (IHSG) successfully ended trading on Friday, 2 October 2026, in the green zone. The index closed stronger after facing pressure that saw it breach the 6,000 psychological level during the first trading session.

According to data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), the IHSG closed up 0.46 per cent, or 27.38 points, to the level of 6,036.88. At the start of trading, the index stood at 6,018.08 and briefly touched a high of 6,053.23.

The late-session strengthening of the IHSG was supported by the rise of several large-cap stocks. Key contributors included DCI Indonesia (DCII), Astra International (ASII), GoTo Gojek Tokopedia (GOTO), and Bukit Asam (PTBA).

Stock movement on the IDX during Friday’s session was quite diverse. A total of 319 stocks were recorded to have risen, while 337 stocks weakened and 134 remained stagnant. The total market capitalisation at the end of trading reached Rp10,650.62 trillion.

Some stocks that saw significant gains included PT DCI Indonesia Tbk. (DCII), which rose 3.66 per cent to Rp200,900. Similarly, PT Astra International Tbk. (ASII) strengthened by 2.66 per cent to the level of Rp4,630, and PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk. (DSSA) also rose 1.79 per cent to Rp1,140. Higher gains were observed among several stocks within the LQ45 index.

Shares of PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk. (GOTO) were recorded to have surged 7.14 per cent to Rp30. This increase was one of the most prominent gains during Friday’s trading. In addition to GOTO, shares of PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk. (PTBA) also strengthened by 4.26 per cent to the level of Rp3,180. The rise in these stocks helped support the IHSG’s movement, allowing it to return above the 6,000 level after experiencing pressure during the first session.

Before reversing to a gain at the end of trading, the IHSG had been in the red zone during the first session. The index corrected by 0.32 per cent to the level of 5,990, breaking below the 6,000 psychological level.

The research team at Mirae Asset Sekuritas noted that the pressure in the first session was influenced by the decline of several large-cap stocks. Stocks experiencing pressure included PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk. (AMMN), which fell 4.6 per cent, PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk. (TPIA), which weakened by 1.7 per cent, and PT Petrindo Jaya Kreasi Tbk. (CUAN), which corrected by 1.2 per cent.
