IHSG Closes Morning Session Higher, Supported by TPIA, BRPT, and UNVR Shares
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) moved into positive territory at the close of the first trading session on Wednesday (6/5/2026). The index rose 0.65% to the level of 7,102.
The strengthening of the IHSG this afternoon was supported by several large-cap stocks, particularly shares from the Barito Group and consumer stocks. Shares of PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (TPIA) surged 7.4%, while PT Barito Pacific Tbk (BRPT) strengthened 2.6%.
In addition, shares of PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk (UNVR) also served as a main supporter of the index after soaring 8.8% in the first trading session.
From a sectoral perspective, the majority of sectoral indices were in positive territory. The strengthening was led by the transportation sector and the basic materials sector.
Conversely, finance was the only sectoral index recorded as weakening until the close of the first session.
In aggregate, throughout the first trading session, the IHSG remained in positive territory, briefly reaching a high of 7,127.721. Meanwhile, the lowest level was at 7,049.920.
The strengthening of the IHSG was supported by the majority of stocks moving higher. As many as 377 stocks rose, 240 stocks weakened, and 194 stocks were stagnant.
Trading activity was observed to be brisk. The transaction volume reached 22.572 billion shares with a transaction value of Rp 10.466 trillion. The trading frequency was 1,492,796 transactions.
