The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) closed again in the red in trading today, Wednesday, 20 May 2026. According to data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), the IHSG closed down 0.82 percent or 52.18 points at 6,318.50.

During the trading session, the IHSG moved quite fluctuate. The index briefly touched a high of 6,459.56 and a low of 6,215.56. The opening level was at 6,352.20.

Selling pressure continued to dominate the domestic stock market. A total of 483 stocks closed lower, 208 rose, and 126 were unchanged.

LQ45 also moved lower by 0.65 percent to 630.68. Meanwhile, the sharia-compliant index was pressured, with the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) down 1.99 percent to 401.98.

The KOMPAS100 index also fell by 1.30 percent to 832.35. IDX30 dropped 0.38 percent to 360.10.

Selling pressure occurred across most sectoral indices. Only two sectors managed to stay in the green, namely the financial sector and infrastructure.

The financial sector became the main pillar of the market, rising 1.21 percent. The infrastructure sector rose marginally by 0.05 percent.

The transportation sector also corrected 4.22 percent, followed by the energy sector down 2.65 percent.

Additionally, the primary consumer goods sector fell 0.24 percent, the property sector weakened by 0.83 percent, and the non-primary consumer goods sector declined 2.06 percent.

A number of large-cap stocks also weighed on the IHSG today.

In the LQ45 group, PT Barito Pacific Tbk (BRPT) was the top loser after dropping 10.18 percent.

Followed by PT Petrindo Jaya Kreasi Tbk (CUAN) down 9.23 percent and PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) down 6.99 percent.

Nevertheless, several blue chips still managed to post gains.
