The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) closed down 1.79 percent, or 138.31 points, at 7,572.22 as trading ended on Friday, 6 March 2026. The retreat followed a rebound the previous day. The IHSG traded in a range of about 7,500 to 7,700. Turnover was Rp 13.23 trillion, with a total of 1.54 million trades. An analyst from Phintraco Sekuritas said the index moved lower amid concerns about the impact of the ongoing intensity of the US–Iran conflict that has yet to be resolved, and that regional stock markets were mixed. Technically, the IHSG closed below the MA5 and MA20, indicating that short-term downside pressure remains. This position was reinforced by the widening negative slope on the MACD. The industrial sector posted the deepest correction, down 3.37 percent. The cyclic consumer sector fell 3.34 percent and the energy sector was dragged 2.86 percent. Phintraco Sekuritas also reported three issuers that recorded the biggest price gains among the LQ45 top 45 shares, namely: Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN); Indo Tambangraya Megah Tbk (ITMG); Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BBTN). Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN) rose 5.82 percent or IDR 425 to IDR 7,725. Indo Tambangraya Megah Tbk (ITMG) surged 3.85 percent or IDR 1,000 to IDR 26,975. Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BBTN) gained 1.90 percent or IDR 25 to close around IDR 1,340.
