IHSG Closes 1.72 Percent Lower at 5,896, Big Cap Stocks Weigh
The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) Composite Index (IHSG) closed trading on Friday, 26 June 2026, in the red, weakening by 102.91 points or 1.72 percent to 5,896. The index moved within a range of 5,830 to 6,045 throughout the session.
The decline was primarily driven by a sharp correction in several large-capitalisation (big cap) stocks, especially those affiliated with the Prajogo Pangestu conglomerate. This pressure was compounded by negative sentiment affecting the majority of stock exchanges across the Asian region. Total trading value also experienced a significant drop to IDR 11.25 trillion, lower than the previous day’s activity.
Almost all sectors ended the day in negative territory. The basic materials sector suffered the deepest correction, plunging approximately 5 percent. Other sectors also recorded substantial losses, with the industrial and infrastructure sectors both falling more than 4 percent. The consumer primary sector weakened by 2.96 percent, while the energy and technology sectors dropped by 2.62 percent and 2.51 percent, respectively. Amidst the broad-based sell-off, the financial sector was the only one to buck the trend, managing a slight gain of 0.03 percent.
Despite the overall market weakness, several stocks managed to record significant gains, even hitting the upper auto-rejection limit (ARA). Notable gainers included BBRM, which surged 34.74 percent to IDR 128, and TRUS, which rose 25 percent to IDR 350. ARTA strengthened by 23.15 percent to IDR 2,660, BHAT increased by 20.23 percent to IDR 2,080, and RICY added 19.72 percent to reach IDR 85.
