IHSG Breaches 6,300 Level as Foreign Investors Return to Big Banks
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — Foreign investors resumed accumulation in the Indonesian stock market on Tuesday (4/8/2026). According to data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), foreign investors recorded a net buy of Rp623.5 billion across the entire market.
The buying was dominated by large-capitalisation banking stocks. PT Bank Central Asia Tbk. (BBCA) was the most heavily accumulated stock by foreign investors, with a net buy of Rp404.4 billion, followed by PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk. (BMRI) at Rp129.9 billion, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BBRI) at Rp116.1 billion, PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk. (MDKA) at Rp101.2 billion, and PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BBNI) at Rp94.1 billion.
The inflow of foreign funds into banking shares coincided with a strengthening of the Indonesia Composite Index (IHSG), which closed 1.37% higher at 6,319.61 — its highest closing level in several weeks.
Beyond banking, foreign investors also accumulated shares in PT Barito Pacific Tbk. (BRPT), PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (TLKM), PT Timah Tbk. (TINS), PT Gudang Garam Tbk. (GGRM), and PT Mitra Adiperkasa Tbk. (MAPI).
