Digitalisation of education is no longer on the periphery of discussion. The question is no longer whether schools need technology. The more critical question is whether technology actually improves learning outcomes or merely gives classrooms a modern facade. In recent years, Kemendikdasmen has strengthened the digital education ecosystem through Digital Interactive Boards, Education House, Student Space, Teacher Space, belajar.id accounts, Digital Learning Resources, Practice Questions, SIBI, and BUDI. These terms may sound technical, but their meaning is straightforward. Education House serves as the central digital service hub. Student Space assists learners, while Teacher Space supports educators and education staff in their professional development. The belajar.id account serves as a digital identity. Learning Resources provides videos, articles, interactive content, and educational games. Practice Questions helps students check their understanding. SIBI offers official educational textbooks, while BUDI enriches children’s literacy through digital reading, comics, audio, and video. This is crucial for Indonesia, where schools vary widely. Some have adequate teaching staff, good facilities, and stable internet, while others face shortages of teachers, learning resources, electricity, internet access, and training opportunities. Amidst this disparity, technology can act as a bridge. However, a bridge is only useful if it truly connects devices to quality learning experiences. Digital Interactive Boards, for instance, can do more than just large screens. They can function as digital whiteboards, annotation spaces, presentation tools, simulation environments, quiz platforms, and collaborative spaces.
