Ignasius Jonan Resigns from Position as Independent Commissioner of United Tractors (UNTR)

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Ignasius Jonan has resigned from his position as Independent Commissioner of PT United Tractors Tbk (UNTR). The resignation of the former Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) for the period 2016-2019 was accepted by UNTR on 8 May 2026. This information was conveyed by United Tractors’ management through a disclosure to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) on Tuesday (12/5/2026). “On 8 May 2026, the company received the resignation letter from Mr Ignasius Jonan from his position as Independent Commissioner of the company,” wrote United Tractors’ Corporate Secretary, Ari Setiyawan. United Tractors also emphasised that Ignasius Jonan’s resignation has no material impact on the company’s operational activities, legal position, finances, or business continuity. “The disclosed information or facts have no material impact on the company’s business continuity,” Ari continued. For context, UNTR previously conducted a major overhaul of its Board of Directors and Board of Commissioners through the 2026 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS). Shareholders appointed Iwan Hadiantoro as President Director, replacing Frans Kesuma, who now serves as President Commissioner of UNTR. Ari stated that the new composition of the Board of Directors and Board of Commissioners takes effect from the closing of the 2026 AGMS. “The company announces Mr Frans Kesuma as President Commissioner of the company,” he said during a press conference following the AGMS on Thursday (16/4/2026). In the new structure, Iwan Hadiantoro is supported by several Directors consisting of Idot Supriadi, Widjaja Kartika, Vilihati Surya, Ari Sutrisno, Hendra Hutahean, and Andreas. On the Board of Commissioners side, Frans Kesuma, previously the President Director, now holds the position of President Commissioner. He will strengthen the company’s oversight function alongside other commissioners, namely Paulus Bambang Widjanarko, Bruce Malcolm Cox, and Ignasius Jonan. Additionally, the commissioners are also filled by Djoko Pranoto Santoso, Rudy, Gita Tiffani Boer, and Lincoln Lin Feng Pan. This overhaul simultaneously ends the previous structure, where Frans Kesuma served as President Director. Meanwhile, the position of President Commissioner was held by Djony Bunarto Tjondro. In the previous Board of Directors, the name Loudy Irwanto Ellias is also no longer part of the new composition.
