A former US Department of Defence (DoD) and National Security Agency (NSA) cybersecurity executive, with nearly four decades of technical leadership and mission experience, will help advance the IGEL Adaptive Secure Endpoint Platform™ (IASEP™) in Zero Trust, cyber resilience, AI and governance across multiple frameworks for governments and critical industries worldwide.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida (ANTARA/PRNewswire) — IGEL®, a global software company providing the IGEL Adaptive Secure Endpoint Platform™ (IASEP™), today announced that Randy Resnick, a prominent Zero Trust leader and architect, has joined the company as Field CTO for Government and Critical Industries.

Resnick has nearly four decades of experience in technical leadership, cybersecurity and programmes spanning the US Department of Defence (DoD) and the National Security Agency (NSA). In his most recent role as Senior Adviser and Director of the DoD Zero Trust Portfolio Management Office, he led the Department’s efforts to develop, coordinate and operationalise Zero Trust across one of the world’s largest and most complex technology environments.

He wrote the first DoD Zero Trust Strategy and helped pioneer the DoD and National Security Systems Zero Trust Reference Architecture, Maturity Model, Innovation Lab and independent assessment approach. His work helped turn Zero Trust from a theoretical concept into an implementable national defence strategy. Before that, Resnick spent more than 34 years at the NSA in a range of senior technical leadership roles, including Zero Trust Strategic Lead, Director of Cybersecurity Innovation, Chief of Information Assurance Engineering and the NSA’s first Red Team Chief. His contributions have earned him several accolades, including the 2024 Wash100 Award and recognition as one of the 2024 CyberScoop 50 Cybersecurity Visionaries.

“Randy is internationally recognised for his leadership in Zero Trust. What makes him especially valuable as an adviser to IGEL’s customers and partners, however, is his ability to take transformative cybersecurity concepts from strategy and architecture through programme development and operational implementation,” said IGEL chief executive Klaus Oestermann. “That combination of technical vision, leadership and execution is closely aligned with the next phase of market adoption for the IGEL Adaptive Secure Endpoint Platform™.”

Bridging National Security Frameworks and Commercial Critical Infrastructure

Resnick’s move from leading Zero Trust strategy in the defence sector to a leading commercial software company is a strong market endorsement of IGEL’s platform approach. IGEL is advancing IASEP™ to address enterprise edge computing environments, where information technology (IT), operational technology (OT), cloud, applications, containers, open-source technology, AI and users are interconnected. The platform brings together control, data and execution planes to enable organisations to apply policies, ensure trusted execution and generate governance evidence across different workloads.

Resnick will help expand these capabilities by translating national-security frameworks into proven, resilient architectures for real-world deployment across commercial critical infrastructure and government sectors, including financial services, healthcare, transport, energy and utilities. His remit will also extend internationally to NATO and Five Eyes countries, as well as Japan, Singapore, South Korea and the Middle East.

“IASEP™ gives us the opportunity to apply these lessons more broadly and securely to enterprise edge computing environments, bringing together trust, resilience and governance across IT, OT and emerging workloads in an architecture organisations can operationalise at the scale they need,” Resnick said.

John Walsh, IGEL’s senior vice-president and Field CTO for Government and Critical Industries, added: “Having known Randy for years through his work at the NSA, and then seen his leadership in the strategic development and implementation of Zero Trust within the Department of Defence, I have great confidence in his technical leadership, programme discipline and ability to turn transformative ideas into operational capabilities at exceptional scale.”

Expanding the Architecture Through the Ecosystem

Resnick’s role will involve close collaboration with customers and IGEL’s product, engineering, partner, marketing and sales teams to translate government and critical-industry requirements into platform capabilities that can be deployed repeatably. The work will also be integrated with the IGEL Ready ecosystem, combining IASEP™ with technology partners in silicon, identity, networking, SASE/SSE, cloud, virtualisation and AI. These efforts will support increasingly sophisticated security and operational outcomes, from identity, segmentation and compliance as conditions of connection to workload isolation, contextual policies, observability, resilience and governance.
