IGCN Annual Members Gathering 2026: Driving Internal Innovation for the SDGs

UN Global Compact Network Indonesia (IGCN) has reaffirmed its commitment to accelerating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by holding the IGCN Annual Members Gathering 2026. Located in the Yustinus Ballroom at Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia, South Jakarta, the event carried the strategic theme ‘Driving Innovation from Within: Enabling Scalable Impact’. This annual meeting serves as a crucial meeting point for corporate leaders, sustainability practitioners, young innovators, and academics to strengthen cross-sector collaboration. The main focus is encouraging the private sector to treat sustainability not merely as compliance, but as the core of business strategy through internal innovation. During the occasion, IGCN outlined the organisation’s policy direction for 2026, a strategy designed to strengthen members’ capacity in facing increasingly complex sustainability challenges. IGCN President Y.W. Junardy stressed that the success of sustainability depends heavily on an organisation’s ability to empower internal talent. ‘We want to show that greater impact can start from within the company itself through a culture of innovation,’ he said. He also revealed that the IGCN member satisfaction rate currently stands at 81.5 per cent, a strong foundation for expanding initiatives such as the blue economy and sustainable supply chains. Echoing this, UN Resident Coordinator in Indonesia Gita Sabharwal highlighted that sustainability practices have become a determining factor for investment competitiveness, noting that ESG aspects are now primary considerations for global investors and international rating agencies. A key highlight of the event was the introduction of the SDG Innovation Accelerator for Young Professionals 2026 Cohort, a programme aimed at equipping young professionals with the skills to create real solutions for ESG challenges within their respective companies. Eighteen leading companies participated in showcase sessions and innovation booths to exhibit their sustainability solutions. UNIKA Atma Jaya Rector Prof. Dr. dr. Yuda Turana expressed pride in hosting the event, affirming that collaboration between academia and industry is key to turning ideas into tangible solutions beneficial for the nation and future generations. Through the Annual Members Gathering 2026, IGCN hopes to continuously strengthen the responsible business community in Indonesia, ensuring that every sustainability commitment transforms into measurable positive impact for society and the environment.
