IFG Life Nurtures Young Runners in Labuan Bajo

LABUAN BAJO – IFG Life supports youth athlete development through the IFG Youth Runner 2026 programme in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. The initiative targets young runners in the region and strengthens community-based sports.

Fifty secondary school students in West Manggarai are participating in the programme organised by Indonesia Financial Group (IFG). Training focuses on enhancing sports abilities, discipline, and character development for young athletes.

Labuan Bajo is seen as having potential for running sports development amid growing community sports activities and running events in various regions.

IFG Life Corporate Secretary Gatot Haryadi said youth athlete development must be sustained to allow local talent to have broader opportunities.

“Through IFG Youth Runner 2026, we aim to foster a generation that is not only healthy and accomplished but also possesses sportsmanship and confidence to grow,” Gatot stated on Tuesday (26 May 2026).

The programme runs from April to December 2026, featuring coaching clinics, participation in national marathons, and scholarships for high-performing participants.

Selected participants receive sports equipment including jerseys and running shoes to support training and development.

IFG Life noted that regional sports development still requires sustained support, especially to provide access for young athletes outside major cities.

The programme is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility initiatives focused on youth development and community sports.
