IFEX 2026, Southeast Asia’s largest business‑to‑business furniture and craft fair, the Indonesia International Furniture Expo (IFEX) 2026, officially ended on Sunday, 8 March 2026. Over its four‑day run at ICE BSD City, the event recorded significant on‑the‑spot transactions amounting to US$300 million. The success reinforces Indonesia’s position as one of the world’s furniture hubs amid global market dynamics. Organisers recorded 13,437 visitors and buyers attending the fair, which was initiated by the Himpunan Industri Mebel dan Kerajinan Indonesia (HIMKI) in collaboration with Dyandra Promosindo. Buyers from 86 countries demonstrated the appeal of local products, with China accounting for the highest number of buyers, followed by the European Union, Australia, the United States, India, Singapore, Japan, and Malaysia. ‘IFEX continues to develop into a global business platform that brings Indonesian furniture producers together with international buyers. The visitors’ enthusiasm and this year’s transaction total show that Indonesian furniture is highly competitive in the global market,’ said HIMKI chairman Abdul Sobur in a press conference. ‘IFEX is not merely a platform for transactions,’ added Daswar Marpaung, President Director of Dyandra Promosindo, ‘it is a strategic space for producers, buyers, designers, and business players to meet face-to-face, build new partnerships, and explore opportunities for business collaboration.’ Beyond the export market, domestic trends emerged. The local property sector showed strong interest in furniture made from natural materials such as stone, solid wood, and fibres. This trend is driven by rising property owners’ preference for the wellness living concept that emphasises a tranquil home environment close to nature. The hosting of IFEX 2026 is expected to yield a multiplier effect for other sectors such as logistics, hospitality, and transportation. Looking ahead, HIMKI is committed to continually raising exhibition standards to remain aligned with other world-class furniture events. ‘We believe the industry will continue to grow in the future. There are still many opportunities we can pursue to increase export value,’ concluded Abdul Sobur. Delegation from Himpunan Industri Mebel dan Kerajinan Indonesia (HIMKI) attended the Opening Ceremony of VIFA ASEAN 2025 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The launched collections covered a range of furniture categories, from living to dining to working collections. Entering 2026, Vivere observed a rising trend in the demand for practical and adaptable furniture. IMMF CONNECT 2026 aims to feature around 800 exhibitors and 15,000 visitors from 20 countries, including Germany, Italy, South Korea, and the United States. With this integration, business players will not only gain market access but also space for knowledge exchange and cross‑sector collaboration that is more efficient. Zimmer offers a range of chairs and sofas with minimalist modern designs that can be tailored to small spaces.
