IFA 2026 officially opens in Berlin, robotics and AI take centre stage
Berlin (ANTARA) - IFA Berlin 2026, one of the world’s largest trade fairs for consumer electronics and household appliances, opened on Friday (4/9) with the fields of robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) as the main highlights.
According to the organisers, this year’s exhibition attracts more than 1,900 brands from around the globe.
Visitors can explore a wide range of cutting-edge technologies and innovations during the five-day event, which covers smart home technology, next-generation consumer electronics, mobility, and other rapidly emerging fields.
Leif Lindner, CEO of IFA Management, stated that the trade fair aims to “make innovation tangible and provide guidance at a time when technology is evolving faster than ever.”
Highlighting one of the key technological shifts colouring this year’s exhibition, Lindner noted that AI is moving beyond content creation and complex tasks, increasingly entering the physical world.
At the same time, smaller and more energy-efficient AI models are becoming increasingly integrated into smartphones, vehicles, household appliances, and various other everyday products.
At this year’s IFA event, many electronic goods and household appliances from Chinese brands are on display.
A number of Chinese companies, including TCL, Hisense, Haier, DJI, and Xiaomi, are showcasing their latest products and technologies, attracting significant attention from both the media and visitors.
