If the US Attacks, Iran Will Use New Weapons and Target New Objectives

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran has warned that it will attack new targets and deploy new weapons if the United States (US) launches another attack against Tehran.

As the conflict has persisted for almost seven months, Tehran and Washington remain in a deadlock, despite both nations appearing to avoid a return to full-scale war.

“If new aggression occurs, we will certainly change our weaponry and the scope of the war zone,” said IRGC spokesperson Hossein Mohebbi in a statement, as reported by AFP and Reuters on Monday (21/9/2026).

Mohebbi added that IRGC forces are prepared for a “protracted war.” He also stated that there “will certainly be significant changes in our defence and retaliation” if a new attack from the US takes place.

“We will introduce new weapons with new capabilities to the battlefield, and the world will be surprised,” he remarked.

“Our targets will also not necessarily be the same as before. We have new targets that have never been attacked,” Mohebbi said in his statement.

Iran Warns of Continuous Retaliation if US Continues Attacks

Mohebbi’s statement follows reports from the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, Iran’s unified military command centre, which claimed to have received information indicating that the US has decided to resume attacks against Iran.

“Based on information received, the criminal America has once again decided to proceed with measures against Iran, with a green light from several regional countries, during a joint meeting in a European nation,” the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters stated in a broadcast on the state-owned IRIB television.

Iran emphasised that any US attack would trigger sustained retaliation against Washington’s bases and interests in the Middle East.

“Every US attack will be met with continuous attacks on US bases and interests,” warned the Iranian Armed Forces.

The Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters also warned that regional nations would be considered “involved” if they “side with the aggression” of the US.

“We warn that if the countries in this region—by continuing to implement two-faced policies towards the Islamic Republic of Iran—side with the aggression of the ‘Great Satan’ against a strong and sovereign Iran, then they will all be considered involved in this crime and can no longer expect restraint or politeness from the formidable Iranian Armed Forces,” the headquarters asserted.
