He called the destroyer a ‘new symbol of maritime defence’ and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening North Korea’s combat fleet. ‘Our naval forces to attack from under and above water will grow rapidly. The naval armament with nuclear weapons shows satisfactory progress,’ Kim stated during a visit to the Nampo Shipyard. He claimed the test’s success marked a historic achievement not seen in 50 years, adding that all these successes represent a radical change in defending our maritime sovereignty, something not achieved in half a century.
