The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) will add a column detailing the affiliation status of shareholders owning more than 1 percent of a listed company’s shares. IDX President Director Jeffrey Hendrik stated that this initiative aims to strengthen transparency and make it easier for the public to understand the structure of share ownership.

At the initial publication of the data on shareholders above 1 percent, the IDX only presented the names of the shareholders. The new column will provide information on whether these shareholders are affiliated or not.

“Going forward, we will add a column that provides information on whether the shareholder above 1 percent is affiliated or not,” Jeffrey said during a press conference commemorating the 49th anniversary of the reactivation of the Indonesian capital market in Jakarta.

Jeffrey emphasised that this transparency enhancement is not merely a response to past issues. He stated that the IDX is building the foundation of the Indonesian capital market to meet future needs. The bourse is targeting a total of 1,100 listed companies and aims to reach more than 35 million capital market investors by 2030.
