The new board of directors of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) has set ambitious targets to bring the Indonesian capital market into the ranks of the world’s 10 largest exchanges within the next four years. One key goal is to double market capitalisation from the 2025 target. Last year, the IDX recorded the Indonesian capital market’s capitalisation at Rp 15,849 trillion. “We have set targets for the Indonesia Stock Exchange for 2030. The first is a market capitalisation target of Rp 30,000 trillion,” said IDX President Director Jeffrey Hendrik during a hybrid press conference following the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (RUPST) on Monday, 29 June 2026. Additionally, the IDX is targeting an average daily transaction value (RNTH) of Rp 31 trillion. This figure is up from last year’s recorded Rp 18.1 trillion per day. Another target is to have more than 1,100 listed companies, compared to 956 listed companies in 2025. The number of capital market investors is targeted to reach 35 million by 2030, up from 20.3 million investors last year. Furthermore, the ratio of capital market capitalisation to gross domestic product, or market cap to GDP, is targeted to exceed 83 percent. This ratio is an increase compared to the 66.5 percent recorded in 2025. As is known, the IDX has just appointed a new board of directors for the 2026-2030 term through the 2026 RUPST. Jeffrey Hendrik, who previously served as Acting President Director, is now officially the President Director of the IDX. During the press conference, Jeffrey revealed the targets for the four-year term. “What we want to achieve for the Indonesian capital market or the IDX going forward is how to bring the Indonesia Stock Exchange into the top 10 largest exchanges in the world,” he said on Monday, 29 June 2026.
