IDX Revokes HSBC Sekuritas Indonesia's Exchange Membership
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) has decided to revoke the exchange membership of PT HSBC Sekuritas Indonesia. The decision was announced in a statement dated Friday, 6 March 2026.
“With this, it is hereby announced that as of 6 March 2026, the Directors of PT Bursa Efek Indonesia revoke the Surat Persetujuan Anggota Bursa (SPAB) PT HSBC Indonesia,” the IDX board said in its announcement, quoted on Friday (6 March 2026). The SPAB number is SPAB-148/JATS/BEJ-I.1/V/1995, dated 22 May 1995. HSBC’s registration number is 14, with exchange member code GW.
The board stated that the withdrawal of membership is based on the implementation of suspension and a request from HSBC Sekuritas Indonesia.
“The revocation of Exchange Membership is based on the request to withdraw the exchange membership approval by PT HSBC Sekuritas Indonesia under Article III.1.1 of Regulation No III-G on Suspension and Revocation of Exchange Membership,” the IDX directors explained.
The suspension was implemented on 15 January. Trading of PT HSBC Sekuritas Indonesia on the Exchange was halted.
“Based on a request from PT HSBC Sekuritas Indonesia to stop securities trading activities on the Exchange as regulated in II.2.1 of the Bursa Regulation No III-G on Suspension and Revocation of Exchange Membership,” said IDX Director Irvan Susandy on Thursday (15 January 2026).
IDX announced that HSBC Sekuritas Indonesia has been suspended since the First Trading Session dated 15 January 2026; PT HSBC Sekuritas Indonesia is not permitted to conduct trading activities on the Exchange until further notice.
Previously, HSBC Sekuritas was also suspended by IDX in October 2014 for failing to meet obligations as a member of the Exchange related to core functions such as marketing, risk management, bookkeeping, custody, IT, and compliance. However, the suspension was lifted and activities resumed after they met IDX requirements, as reported in April 2015.
