IDX reveals 92 Brokerage Members ready for Rp1 share price implementation by 28 September
The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) has revealed that 92 Brokerage Members (AB) have expressed their readiness to participate in the change of the minimum share price from the current Rp50 per share to Rp1 per share, leaving only one member yet to confirm readiness.
The President Director of IDX, Jeffrey Hendrik, stated that the exchange is preparing to implement this change to the minimum share price on 28 September 2026.
“As of today, we are only waiting for the readiness of one Brokerage Member. Therefore, we are very optimistic that during the Management of Change (MOC) on Saturday (19/09), that one member can participate in the MOC and subsequently be ready for trading on the 28th (September), when the Rp50 minimum price will no longer be in use,” Jeffrey said during a media interview at the IDX Media Room, Jakarta, on Wednesday.
Regarding the single member that is not yet ready, Jeffrey estimated that the delay is due to technical issues, which should not be a cause for concern, and expressed optimism that the member will be prepared before 28 September 2026.
“The obstacles should be purely technical and not something to be worried about; since they are very technical, it should be fine,” Jeffrey remarked.
Ahead of the implementation, the exchange has ensured the readiness of the IDX infrastructure to handle the transition from the current Rp50 minimum share price to Rp1.
“As for the exchange infrastructure, it is very much ready. During the first round of testing, the exchange infrastructure is what must be prepared. Now, almost everything is ready, and the most important thing to be ready first is the exchange infrastructure,” said Jeffrey.
Regarding potential market volatility following the implementation, he stated that he is not overly concerned about such issues, noting instead that the focus remains on the IDX infrastructure’s ability to handle potential surges.
“Actually, what we are anticipating from the exchange’s perspective as the trading infrastructure provider is not price volatility, but rather the system traffic. That is what we are anticipating. We have also conducted various tests, and hopefully, everything will proceed smoothly,” Jeffrey concluded.
