IDX Refines Special Notation and JATS Display to Bolster Transparency
The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) has officially enacted improvements to the information submission mechanism for Listed Companies to strengthen transparency and investor protection in the Indonesian capital market. This move is marked by the implementation of two Board of Directors Circular Letters (SE) starting Monday (3/8/2026), namely SE-00009/BEI/07-2026 concerning Special Notations and SE-00010/BEI/07-2026 regarding the display of information in the Remarks column on the Jakarta Automated Trading System (JATS). Both policies were previously issued by the exchange on Friday (31/7/2026). Through this new regulation, the IDX is adding one new special notation, code ‘P’, while simultaneously removing four old special notations, which include codes ‘E’, ‘D’, ‘A’, and ‘S’. In addition, the IDX is also adjusting the display of information in the Remarks column within JATS to align with the addition and updating of these notations. This refinement is expected to provide much more accurate, clear, and relevant information for investors in making investment decisions. The addition of Special Notation ‘P’ is intended for Listed Companies that do not meet the minimum free float share requirements to remain listed on the Exchange, in accordance with Regulation Number I-A concerning Share Listing. Meanwhile, the removal of Special Notations ‘E’, ‘D’, ‘A’, and ‘S’ is carried out because the information criteria they represented are now accommodated through the Special Monitoring Board provisions (Regulation Number I-X) and securities suspension procedures (Regulation Number I-L). This simplification step is taken to avoid overlapping information and to harmonise trading provisions, creating a more orderly, fair, and efficient market. The IDX has stipulated that the implementation of these new rules will be carried out in stages. The removal of Special Notations ‘E’, ‘D’, ‘A’, and ‘S’ is scheduled to take effect on 30 November 2026. On the same date, the implementation of Special Notation ‘P’ will also officially come into effect for Listed Companies on the Acceleration Board. For Listed Companies registered on the Main Board and Development Board, the implementation of Special Notation ‘P’ will only take effect starting 30 April 2027.
