PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (IDX) reported that the number of stock investors reached 10,052,059 Single Investor Identifications (SIDs) as of 7 August 2026, an increase of 1,447,882 SIDs or 16.83 percent year to date (ytd) compared with the end of 2025.

“This achievement reflects the broadening inclusion of the capital market in Indonesia, in line with the increasing public participation in investing in the capital market,” said IDX Corporate Secretary Kautsar Primadi Nurahmad in a statement received in Jakarta on Sunday.

For the total number of Indonesian capital market investors overall, the IDX reported that it reached 30,274,265 SIDs as of 7 August 2026, an increase of 9,926,440 SIDs or 48.78 percent ytd compared with the end of 2025.

The total number of capital market investors comprises stock investors, bond investors, mutual fund investors, Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) investors, and derivative product investors.

As an effort to strengthen the investor base, the IDX held a series of activities for the Surabaya Investor Meeting and Connectivity 2026 on Wednesday (5/8) this week, as part of efforts to support an increase in issuers’ free float through strengthening communication and connectivity between issuers and investors, including institutional investors.

The event brought together seven issuers with investors, facilitated through the participation of 13 Exchange Members (AB) and the Indonesian Pension Fund Association (ADPI).

The series of events consisted of company presentation sessions and one-on-one meetings that provided an opportunity for issuers to present their profiles, performance, business strategies, and business prospects, while also opening space for direct dialogue with investors.

“Through this forum, it is hoped that more open communication, constructive information exchange, and stronger relationships between issuers and investors will be created, so as to support an increase in free float, stock trading liquidity, and the deepening of the Indonesian capital market,” said Kautsar.

The OJK together with the Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO) is targeting the number of Indonesian capital market investors to reach 35 million SIDs by 2030, as an effort to push the domestic exchange into the world’s top 10.

Meanwhile, data from the IDX closing trade on Friday (07/08) afternoon showed the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) at 6,409.65, still weakening by 2,237.29 points or 25.87 percent year to date (ytd) compared with the position of 8,646.94 at the beginning of the year.
