IDX Promotes Global Connectivity and IPO Pipeline
Jakarta, Topbusiness — PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (IDX) is strengthening the Indonesian capital market ecosystem through explorations of global market connectivity, the expansion of the company pipeline heading towards Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), and the development of the investor base in regional areas. In line with these various initiatives, IDX stock trading activity also recorded an increase throughout the week of 31 August–4 September 2026.
This was stated by the IDX Corporate Secretary, Kautsar Primadi Nurahmad, in Jakarta.
On Tuesday (1/9), IDX and AlpacaDB, Inc. (Alpaca) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the IDX Main Hall, Jakarta. This MoU serves as an initial step for both parties to exchange knowledge and explore cooperation in expanding cross-border capital market access. One area under review is the potential access for Exchange Members to foreign securities markets through the Overseas Order Routing (PALN) mechanism.
In the next stage, IDX will coordinate with the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Exchange Members, and relevant stakeholders to study mechanisms that align with market needs and applicable regulations. For Indonesian investors, strengthening cross-border connectivity has the potential to expand investment options. For the domestic market, this initiative is part of an effort to increase the integration and competitiveness of the Indonesian capital market amidst the increasing connectivity of global financial markets.
Regarding the supply of securities, IDX continues to encourage potential companies to utilise the capital market as a source of long-term funding. On Monday (31/8), IDX, together with the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (KemenUMKM) and PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, organised the ‘Go Public: RISE to Initial Public Offering (IPO)’ Workshop in Bandung.
Approximately 54 participants from various companies and business sectors in West Java attended the event. The programme provided an understanding of the stages, preparation, and benefits of an IPO, while simultaneously encouraging medium-sized enterprises to improve governance, professionalism, competitiveness, and business sustainability. During the event, IDX highlighted the potential of West Java, which possesses a large investor base, reaching 3,985,667 SID as of July 2026. Through this collaboration, IDX, KemenUMKM, and BRI are encouraging more medium-sized companies to scale up, strengthen competitiveness, and build sustainable businesses through IPOs.
Meanwhile, the development of domestic investors continues through the expansion of capital market literacy and inclusion to regional areas. From Wednesday (2/9) to Friday (4/9), IDX, alongside Self-Regulatory Organisations (SRO), supported the OJK in organising a series of Integrated Capital Market Socialisation and Education (SEPMT) 2026 activities in Ternate, North Maluku. The series of activities targeted various community groups, ranging from educators and the younger generation to the general public, through Sharia Capital Market Training of Trainers, public lectures at Khairun University, and the ‘Ternate Youth Investment Literacy’ seminar for students at SMKN 1 Ternate, as well as the inauguration of the IDX Education Investment Gallery (GIE) at SMKN 1 Ternate and SMKN 8 Ternate.
The agenda was also complemented by Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes in conjunction with the 49th Anniversary of the Indonesian Capital Market. On Friday (4/9), IDX and SRO handed over technological facility assistance to Khairun University in Ternate to support educational and learning activities. Furthermore, on Saturday (5/9), assistance for the construction of fish storage facilities will be provided to local fishermen in Ternate. Through these two CSR initiatives, IDX and SRO are committed to providing a tangible contribution from the capital market that benefits the community while supporting sustainable development in the regions.
