IDX Prepares to Lower Minimum Share Price to Rp1, Implementation Targeted for September 2026
PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (IDX) is preparing to implement a new minimum share price for trades in the regular and cash markets, reducing it from the current Rp50 per share to Rp1 per share by the end of September 2026.
IDX Director of Development, Iding Pardi, revealed that the exchange is currently conducting further testing as several Brokerage Members (AB) are not yet prepared.
“We are still waiting for some members to be ready, as some are not yet prepared for implementation, and further testing is required. We hope to implement this by the end of this month (September),” Iding stated during an interview following the Katadata Sustainability Action for The Future Economy (SAFE) 2026 event in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Based on the results of the trial for the Rp1 minimum share price, IDX President Director Jeffrey Hendrik revealed that 83 Brokerage Members have declared their readiness, while 8 members have stated they are not yet prepared.
Initially, the IDX targeted the implementation of the minimum share price reduction from Rp50 to Rp1 in the regular and cash markets for 7 September 2026.
“From the two mock trading sessions, the preliminary result is that 83 Brokerage Members are ready, but 8 members are not yet prepared,” said Jeffrey.
Jeffrey ensured that the exchange will continue to maintain communication and provide assistance to the brokerage members who have expressed unreadiness regarding the adjustment of the minimum share price limit.
