Market participants responded positively to the report on Indonesia’s development, economic stability and growth, as well as growth opportunities under the administration of President Prabowo Subianto.

Director of Trading and Member Regulation at PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (IDX) Irvan Susandy assessed that the strengthening of the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) was driven by market participants responding positively to President Prabowo Subianto’s State Address.

He said market participants responded positively to the report on Indonesia’s development, economic stability and growth, as well as growth opportunities under the administration of President Prabowo Subianto.

“It means the market is responding positively to the President’s report on Indonesia’s development, economic growth, existing stability, and the opportunities from his administration,” Irvan said in an interview at the IDX Building in Jakarta on Friday.

Along with this, the IDX welcomed the national economic growth opportunities, which can serve as a foundation for Indonesia’s capital market to continue growing and developing in the future.

“We are very positive about this, because God willing, this will become a good foundation for us to grow and develop,” Irvan said.

With good economic growth, he said it would drive the growth of listed companies and have an impact on the growth of Indonesia’s capital market.

“If economic growth is good, listed companies grow well, their profits grow, the capital market will certainly also grow, because the condition of the listed companies will also improve,” Irvan said.

With listed companies and the capital market growing, he said that growth would encourage Indonesia’s capital market to become an investment destination for both foreign and domestic investors.

“So it becomes increasingly investable, and I am confident that with good growth and good domestic stability, this will be a plus point for our country to retain foreign investment, and local investors will certainly be more comfortable transacting and profiting,” Irvan said.

On this day, President Prabowo Subianto delivered his State Address at the 2026 Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) and the Joint Session of the House of Representatives (DPR) and the Regional Representatives Council (DPD), along with the Government’s Introductory Statement on the Draft Law on the 2027 State Budget and its Financial Note.

In his speech, President Prabowo emphasised that economic growth and investment are not the ultimate goals of development, but rather instruments to improve public welfare.

“For me, growth and investment are not the end goals. Our goal is the welfare of our people,” President Prabowo said.

President Prabowo also reported that Indonesia’s investment realisation in 2025 reached Rp1,931 trillion and created more than 2.7 million jobs, and expressed optimism that with appropriate and rational policies, economic growth by the end of the year could reach 6 percent.

“With appropriate, rational policies that use common sense, I am confident our economic growth by the end of this year can reach 6 percent,” President Prabowo said.
