IDX Implements Liquidity Provider Scheme, These 5 Stocks Make the List
The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) has officially implemented share liquidity provider quotations today, Monday (20/4). This step is part of efforts to strengthen liquidity and trading efficiency in the Indonesian capital market.
The inaugural implementation was marked by the first quotations from Phintraco Sekuritas. In the initial phase, Phintraco Sekuritas provides quotations in the form of buy and sell orders for five stocks.
The five stocks include PT Gudang Garam Tbk (GGRM), PT Pabrik Kertas Tjiwi Kimia Tbk (TKIM), PT Trans Power Marine Tbk (TPMA), PT Asuransi Tugu Pratama Indonesia Tbk (TUGU), and PT Wintermar Offshore Marine Tbk (WINS).
The presence of share liquidity providers plays an important role in improving trading quality through narrowing bid-ask spreads, increasing market depth, and supporting transaction ease for investors.
IDX Director of Trading and Member Regulation, Irvan Susandy, stated that active participation of exchange members as share liquidity providers is a key element in enhancing liquidity and price discovery quality.
“IDX appreciates Phintraco Sekuritas’s commitment in supporting the share liquidity provider programme. We hope this step can encourage improved liquidity, especially for stocks with potential for more optimal development,” Irvan said in a written statement.
IDX assesses that the involvement of exchange members will be a key factor in the success of this programme’s implementation. Therefore, IDX continues to encourage broader participation from market players so that this initiative can run optimally.
The success of this inaugural quotation implementation is expected to serve as a catalyst for other exchange members to participate, making the trading ecosystem more liquid, credible, and competitive.
Going forward, IDX will conduct ongoing evaluations, provide incentives, and continue to encourage active participation from all exchange members in the share liquidity provider programme. This step is an effort to strengthen market structure and increase the attractiveness of the Indonesian capital market at regional and global levels.
