PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (IDX) is preparing to remove the Rp50 lower share price limit (saham gocap) that has been in force in the regular market. This policy is being adopted to provide more flexible transaction space and support a more effective price discovery mechanism for investors.

IDX Director Jeffrey Hendrik confirmed that the exchange authority is currently in the process of finalising the plan. “To provide better liquidity access and price discovery, we will remove the Rp50 minimum price limit,” Jeffrey said when confirmed on Thursday (20/8/2026).

As an initial step in drafting the regulation, the IDX has begun gathering input from various capital market stakeholders. On Wednesday (19/8/2026), the exchange held intensive discussions with the Indonesian Securities Companies Association (APEI) and the Indonesian Investment Managers Association (AMII). In addition to domestic market participants, the IDX is also gathering views from global investors.

Regarding the technical implementation details and launch timeline, the IDX is still assessing infrastructure readiness at the industry participant level. The details of the new rule will be officially announced after all input has been collected and the readiness of the trading platform at each Exchange Member (AB) is confirmed to be adequate.
