IDX Designates Three Green Equities, Here Is the List
The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) has opened trading and launched the IDX Green Equity Designation, a green share classification.
Through this designation, investors can gain broader visibility of listed companies that make a real contribution to the green economy and transition, while also providing a wider reference.
IDX President Director Jeffrey Hendrik explained that as of the end of July 2026, 83% of listed companies had submitted their 2025 sustainability reports. Of these, 15% obtained independent assurance and around 62.5% of companies in the IDX-80 have set net zero targets.
Jeffrey explained that the IDX Green Equity Designation was developed with reference to the Indonesian Sustainable Finance Taxonomy (TKBI) issued by the OJK, as well as other reference taxonomies and international practices, including the Green Equity Principles from the World Federation of Exchanges. As the basis for its implementation, the IDX has issued a Board of Directors Decree effective from 31 July 2026.
At the inaugural launch of the IDX Green Equity Designation, the IDX designated three companies: PT Hero Global Investment Tbk. (HGII) as Green Equity, PT Kencana Energi Lestari Tbk. (KEEN) as Green Equity, and PT TBS Energi Utama Tbk. (TOBA) as Green Equity Transition.
The designation framework is supported by five main pillars: revenue and investment, taxonomy, governance, assessment, and disclosure. The designation is also evaluated annually to ensure it continues to reflect developments in company activities.
Jeffrey expressed hope that the Green Equity Designation can increase visibility and funding access for listed companies, provide a more credible reference for investors, and open up opportunities for developing sustainability-based indices and investment products.
“We also want to encourage sustainability not to stop at reporting, but to become part of the growth strategy, competitiveness, and long-term value creation of companies. Therefore, we invite other listed companies and prospective listed companies to participate in the IDX Green Equity Designation programme,” said Jeffrey during the trading ceremony and launch of the IDX Green Equity Designation at the IDX Building, Friday (28/8/2026).
On the same occasion, the Chief Executive of Capital Market, Derivative Finance, and Carbon Exchange Supervision at the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Hasan Fawzi, encouraged the IDX to provide an incentive package as appreciation for green-based shares.
“We at the OJK will continue to strengthen policy direction, present supportive regulations, and provide a reference framework for ecosystem development,” said Hasan.
