The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) Composite strengthened during the first trading session this Wednesday morning (30/09/2026), rising 0.15% or 9.18 points to the level of 6,130.88 at the end of the session.

The index was recorded moving fluctuatively, with a daily high of 6,187.05 and a low of 6,108.78.

Trading activity remained relatively quiet, with a trading volume of 19.57 billion shares, a total transaction value of approximately Rp6.34 trillion, and 1.11 million transactions.

The morning’s strengthening of the IDX Composite was driven by the consumer staples sector, which rose 1.16%, followed by the basic materials sector up 0.97%, and the infrastructure sector up 0.92%.

Stocks driving the index today included PT Mora Telematika Indonesia Tbk. (MORA), PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk. (AMMN), and PT United Tractors Tbk. (UNTR).

As trading continues today, domestic market participants face various sentiments from both local and international sources. A decline in oil prices could reduce market pressure today, but hawkish statements from the Federal Reserve may cause investor anxiety.

Global markets are also awaiting two important pieces of news from the US today, namely the PCE inflation and economic growth data.

Global oil prices weakened on Tuesday (29/09/2026), as the recovery of Middle East oil exports eased supply concerns arising from the US-Israel conflict with Iran. Brent crude fell 2.6% to US$102.59 per barrel, while WTI dropped 3.5% to US$89.38 per barrel. Despite the correction, Brent is still heading towards a monthly increase of approximately 13%, and WTI by around 4%.

In another sentiment, investors are also highlighting remarks from New York Federal Reserve President John Williams, who stated that the Fed still has time to examine economic data before raising interest rates again. However, one additional hike may be necessary before the end of 2026.

Meanwhile, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, assessed that the fluctuations in the IDX Composite and the Rupiah are market dynamics that should be viewed from a medium-term perspective. The government, alongside Bank Indonesia, is reportedly continuing to monitor exchange rate movements, while short selling transactions have also been reactivated on the Indonesia Stock Exchange since 15 September 2026.
