IDX Composite Plunges to 2020 Levels in Time-Warp Session
The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) Composite index closed the first trading session on Thursday (4/6/2026) down 206.81 points, or 3.48%, at 5,734.26, marking its lowest level since the end of 2020. A total of 547 stocks weakened, 321 remained stagnant, and only 88 stocks advanced. The transaction frequency reached 397.9 thousand times, with a trading volume of 5.23 billion shares worth Rp3.38 trillion. At the opening of trade, the IDX Composite started at 5,919.57. However, selling pressure again dominated, pushing the index deeper to 5,874.70, a drop of 66.37 points (-1.12%). During the morning session, the index touched a high of 5,924.51 and a low of 5,873.00.
