IDX Composite Loses Appeal; Are BBCA, BREN, and ASII Stocks Worth Collecting?
JAKARTA – Quarterly financial performance reports released by issuers are expected to serve as positive catalysts for the stock market to lift the Indonesia Composite Index (IHSG). However, current stock performance and issuer fundamentals present a stark contrast. On a monthly basis, the IHSG has experienced consecutive corrections from January to May, a trend more severe than the performance seen during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic.
Data for the first quarter of 2026 was reported by issuers throughout April and May 2026; however, the IHSG was instead reduced by 1.30% in April and 11.92% in May. This decline occurred despite the fact that the fundamental performance of issuers remains relatively solid.
