The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IHSG) closed up 68.05 points, or 1.11%, at the level of 6,195.43 on Tuesday (2/6/2026). Although it closed in the green, the index’s gains were trimmed by dozens of points towards the end of trading, after having surged by 2.23% during the morning session.

Throughout the day, the IHSG remained consistently in positive territory, ranging between 6,143.63 and 6,264.26. A total of 295 stocks increased, 410 decreased, and 254 remained unchanged, bringing the total market capitalisation to Rp 10,895 trillion.

According to Refinitiv, the utilities sector saw the strongest growth at 16.11%. This was driven by conglomerate stocks, which had been underperforming year-to-date, rebounding to dominate today’s transaction value. Chandra Asri Pacific (TPIA), Barito Pacific (BRPT), Amman Mineral (AMMN), Barito Renewables Energy (BREN), and Petrosea (PTRO) accounted for more than 70% of the total IHSG transactions following the long holiday.

Significant price surges were noted among these stocks. BREN rose by 24.85%, hitting its upper auto-rejection limit (ARA) and contributing 30.25 points to the IHSG’s gains. AMMN rose by 17.88 points, contributing 17.93 points to the index, while Dian Swastatika Sentosa (DSSA) rose by 25%, contributing 10.85 points.

Additionally, major banks supported the index, with Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BBRI), Bank Central Asia (BBCA), and Bank Mandiri (BMRI) contributing 14.11 points, 11.71 points, and 7.04 points, respectively. Conversely, the heaviest drag on the index was Telkom Indonesia (TLKM), which contributed -8.35 points, followed by DCI Indonesia (DCII) and Sejahteraraya Anugrahjaya (SRAJ) at -4.93 points and -4.26 points.

As the first week of June 2026 begins, market participants are closely monitoring key macroeconomic data releases from both domestic and international sources. Investors are also watching developments in US-Iran relations following comments from US President Donald Trump regarding the potential outcome of peace talks with Tehran.

In other developments, the Rupiah ended the start of the month with gains against the US Dollar.
