Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) is adjusting the evaluation criteria for the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI), with the changes taking effect on Monday, 2 November 2026.

The adjustment refers to IDX Announcement No. Peng-00148/BEI.POP/05-2021, dated 31 May 2021, concerning the application of free float in index calculations, as well as a joint decree by the boards of directors of the IDX and the Indonesia Central Securities Depository (KSEI), No. Kep-00047/BEI/03-2026 and KEP-0024/DIR/KSEI/0426, concerning the designation of highly concentrated share ownership in listed companies.

The move is in line with efforts by the IDX, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and KSEI to strengthen the integrity of Indonesia’s capital market, while taking into account the need for an index that better reflects market dynamics. The revised JCI evaluation criteria are set out as follows:

“The IDX will continue to monitor the implementation of these adjustments and communicate with stakeholders, including investors and index providers,” IDX Corporate Secretary Elsierra Putri Yosita said in a written statement on Friday (23 October 2026.

The adjustments are expected to enable the JCI to reflect market dynamics accurately and transparently, and to provide adequate information as a reference for investors in Indonesia’s capital market.
