The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) has spoken out regarding the announcement of the MSCI August index rebalancing results, which were released in the early hours of Thursday (13/8/2026).

IDX President Director Jeffrey Hendrik said the rebalancing process is in line with the periodic schedule set by MSCI. He added that the results of this August review reflect adjustments to the IDX’s transparency measures, which have been implemented since the beginning of the year.

“This rebalancing is carried out periodically by MSCI. And like previous rebalancing processes, MSCI also uses public information disclosures submitted by the IDX, such as the HSC and 1% share ownership,” Jeffrey told reporters.

Jeffrey further stated that the IDX will continue to coordinate with global market participants. This is in line with the capital market reform transformation initiatives currently being undertaken by the Indonesian government together with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO).

“Our communication with MSCI will certainly continue. Likewise, communication with global investors,” he said.

Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) has officially announced the results of the August 2026 Index Review. A number of Indonesian stocks have again experienced changes in their positions within the MSCI Global Standard Indexes and MSCI Global Small Cap Indexes.

In this review, no Indonesian stocks were added to the MSCI Global Standard Indexes. Conversely, two stocks were removed, namely PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) and PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Tbk (CPIN).

In the Small Cap category, MSCI added only one Indonesian stock and removed nine stocks. All changes will be implemented after the close of trading on 31 August 2026, or effective from 1 September 2026.

In addition to changes in the Standard index, MSCI removed nine Indonesian stocks from the MSCI Global Small Cap Indexes.

These stocks include PT Bank Jago Tbk (ARTO), PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA), PT ESSA Industries Indonesia Tbk (ESSA), PT MD Entertainment Tbk (FILM), and PT Medikaloka Hermina Tbk (HEAL).

MSCI also removed PT MNC Tourism Indonesia Tbk (KPIG), PT Raharja Energi Cepu Tbk (RATU), PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SMGR), and PT Transcoal Pacific Tbk (TCPI).

With the inclusion of CPIN and the removal of the nine stocks, the net change in the Indonesian Small Cap segment was recorded at minus eight constituents.
