IDX Amends Rules on Share Ownership Reporting
The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) issued amendments to the Director’s Decree on the Provisions for Monthly Reporting of Share Ownership Registration Activities (SK LBRE) on 1 April 2026. These changes expand the disclosure obligations of listed companies to the exchange.
Acting President Director of IDX, Jeffrey Hendrik, stated that the new provisions include reporting details of share ownership above 5%, controlling affiliations with ownership below 5%, share ownership by directors and commissioners, and reporting of beneficial owners for shareholders with 10% or more ownership.
“Additionally, this decree also regulates the disclosure of restricted employee share ownership, as well as the classification of share ownership based on KSEI investor types and classifications,” said Jeffrey at his office in South Jakarta on Thursday, 2 April 2026.
He explained that the reported information includes Single Investor Identification (SID), shareholder name and address, number of shares, and status as a controller or affiliate.
For beneficial owners with 10% or more ownership, the data is not published and can only be accessed by interested parties through requests to the exchange in accordance with procedures. Meanwhile, information on shareholders above 5% is published, except for confidential SID data.
These provisions take effect from 1 May 2026 for the LBRE reporting period of 30 April 2026.
IDX, he said, has begun announcing information on share ownership concentrated in few shareholders or high shareholding concentration (HSC). This information is displayed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange website as a warning to investors.
On the same occasion, President Director of the Indonesian Central Securities Depository (KSEI), Samsul Hidayat, said that the HSC announcement aims to increase information transparency and investor protection.
“KSEI distributes share ownership information based on investor classifications and types, which can be accessed through the IDX website on the announcements page,” he stated.
IDX and KSEI also present share ownership data with more detailed classifications. The report contains 39 investor classifications and types, compiled based on scripless share ownership data.
