IDX Adds HSC Shares, Here is the Latest List of 55 Issuers
The Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) has again added to its list of shares with High Shareholding Concentration (HSC), or highly concentrated share ownership. Through the latest evaluation, the number of issuers included in the HSC list as of Wednesday (5/8/2026) has increased to 55 shares. This figure has grown since the initial announcement of the HSC share list on 3 April 2026, when the BEI announced there were 10 companies with HSC status.
Based on data on its official website, the BEI added shares of PT Alakasa Industrindo Tbk (ALKA) and PT Asia Sejahtera Mina Tbk (AGAR) to the HSC share list as of 4 August 2026. Each issuer’s shares are indicated to be controlled by highly concentrated entities with percentages of 99.32% and 98.21% respectively.
For the record, HSC is a category of shares where the majority of ownership is controlled by one party or an affiliated group of parties, so the number of shares circulating in the public is relatively limited. This information is published as part of efforts to increase transparency and investor protection in the capital market.
Shares with highly concentrated ownership are considered to have much greater risk compared to shares with a large free float. This is because control over price and liquidity is in the hands of a few parties, not entirely by market mechanisms. With control by a few parties, transaction volume can become limited, and investors will have difficulty selling shares when the market is volatile.
