On the eve of the Iduladha 1447 H holiday, which coincides with the last working day before the long weekend, PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) recorded a 25% increase in Whoosh passenger volume compared to regular days. By the last train service on Tuesday (26/5) at 10:25 PM WIB, Whoosh ticket sales reached approximately 22,000. To accommodate the surge in mobility during the Iduladha long weekend, KCIC operates up to 68 daily Whoosh services. Based on sold ticket data, occupancy rates for daytime and evening journeys have reached around 50%. KCIC forecasts total Whoosh passenger volume for Wednesday (27/5) to exceed 20,000. KCIC urges those planning travel during the Iduladha long weekend to book tickets via official channels, including the Whoosh app, ticket.kcic.co.id website, station ticket counters, Ticket Vending Machines, and partner apps such as Access by KAI. KCIC President Director Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi explained that to meet the increased demand, additional services have been introduced, providing more travel options for passengers, including late-night departures. “To welcome the Iduladha long weekend, KCIC has added six services, increasing total daily Whoosh trips from 62 to 68,” he stated in an official release. The additional services consist of three extra departures on the Halim-Tegalluar Summarecon route and three on the Tegalluar Summarecon-Halim route. During the long weekend, passengers can avail of group booking discounts of up to 10% by reserving via KCIC’s WhatsApp Contact Center at 0811-8888-111. “This promotion is designed to offer convenience and more economical travel for families using Whoosh during the holiday period,” Dwiyana added. To support connectivity to and from Bandung, Dwiyana noted that all Whoosh schedules are integrated with Feeder trains to Bandung and Cimahi stations. KCIC also advises passengers heading to Bandung to utilise the Feeder service for a comfortable and smooth journey during the long weekend. (H-4)
