Thousands of Muhammadiyah congregations held Idul Fitri prayers for 1447 Hijriah at Lodaya Field, Lodaya Street, Bandung City, on Friday morning (20/3/2026). Preacher Prof Hilman Latif highlighted social problems in West Java, such as online gambling. The Idul Fitri prayer began at 06.30 WIB and was followed by a sermon. In his sermon, the preacher addressed social issues like online gambling, unemployment, and high divorce rates in West Java. Therefore, the preacher invited the Muhammadiyah congregations to become superior families and individuals. He urged the Muslim community not to be indolent. “A great nation, a disciplined nation is capable of utilising life’s time productively and beneficially, disciplined in learning to seek knowledge and developing understanding,” he said in front of the congregations on Friday (20/3/2026). He stated that Indonesia, with the largest Muslim population in the world, must advance and succeed. In addition, it must be noble and full of discipline. “Becoming a disciplined individual can provide benefits to others,” he said. Regional Manager of Lazis Jabar Sani Sonjaya said the number of congregations performing Idul Fitri prayers at Lodaya Field reached 3,000 to 5,000 people. He hoped the Idul Fitri prayer implementation would run well and smoothly. “For the congregations earlier, some were from Lembang, Cimahi, who also made the effort to come here, but the majority were Muhammadiyah communities around Lodaya Field,” he said.
