Idul Fitri gifts for the poor

JAKARTA (JP): About 500 poor residents of Kampung Tengah, in
the Kramat Jati district, East Jakarta, have received Idul Fitri
gift packages from Yayasan Nanda Dian Nusantara, a non-profit
foundation.

After giving the gifts on Saturday, chairwoman of the
foundation, which specializes in handling street children, Mrs.
Roostien Ilyas said that the packages were given in line with the
commemoration of the National Social Solidarity Day in order to
help the poor to be able to enjoy the upcoming Idul Fitri.

The gift packages, which were donated by a private bank,
consisted of flour, margarine, dried noodle, sugar, coffee and
tea.

Similar gifts will be given to poor families at Pasar Ikan in
Penjaringan, North Jakarta. (bsr)
