Idul Fitri compensation

SURAKARTA, Central Java: The state-owned insurance company PT
Jasa Raharja has compensated relatives of 480 people who died in
traffic accidents across Indonesia during the recent Idul Fitri
holidays.

Company operations director Suhaimi Pulungan gave out Rp 961.1
million (US$402,133) in a ceremony here Tuesday. The company also
paid compensation to nine people injured in accidents.

The sum was 20.3 percent less than that given out in 1996.
