TIME TO GET TOGETHER: Idul Fitri is a time to get together for many officials including former Indonesian military leader Gen. (ret) Abdul Haris Nasution (right, above photo), and State Minister for Research and Technology B.J. Habibie. The meeting took place at Nasution's residence on Jl. Teuku Umar, Central Jakarta on Tuesday. Former foreign minister Soebandrio joined other Moslems to say Idul Fitri prayers at the Sunda Kelapa mosque, Menteng, Central Jakarta (center, right photo), on Tuesday morning as Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Alatas (left, photo below) received the Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia Taizo Watanabe and his wife at the ministerial housing complex on Jl. Widya Chandra, South Jakarta.

FUN, FIRE, FAMILY: Thousands of people, braving the rains, visit the Ragunan Zoo on the second day of Idul Fitri yesterday (above photo) while fires destroyed four houses on Jl. Budi Mulia, Pademangan, North Jakarta (left photo, below) on Idul Fitri eve. Other fires ravaged houses in Cipete and Bintaro in South Jakarta, Central Jakarta and an electricity generating plant on Jl. Lt. Jen. Suprapto, East Jakarta at the same time. For Suradjudin (second right, right photo, below) who is serving a life sentence for killing a noted model in 1986, Idul Fitri also means a reunion with relatives.
