Idul Adha long holiday sees Trans-Java Toll Road traffic surge by 32.08%
Jasamarga Transjawa Toll (JTT) recorded a significant surge in vehicle volumes across several Trans-Java Toll Road sections during the 2026 Idul Adha long holiday period. The highest increase occurred at Cikampek Utama Toll Gate (GT), with traffic rising 32.08% compared to normal conditions.
Vice President of Corporate Secretary & Legal at PT Jasamarga Transjawa Toll, Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated that between 26 and 29 May 2026, 149,389 vehicles passed through Cikampek Utama GT heading eastbound on the Trans-Java Toll Road. This represents a 32.08% increase from the normal traffic volume of 113,101 vehicles.
‘To alleviate traffic congestion, on Saturday, 30 May 2025, JTT implemented contraflow traffic management from KM 55 to KM 65 towards Cikampek, starting at 9:43 WIB, at the police’s discretion,’ Ria said in a statement from Karawang, West Java, on Saturday, 30 May 2025.
Meanwhile, traffic from the eastern Trans-Java region heading to Jakarta via Cikampek Utama GT also rose, with 112,466 vehicles recorded—a 6.19% increase from the normal volume of 105,913 vehicles.
The surge was not limited to the Jakarta-Cikampek section; JTT Group-managed toll roads in Central and East Java also saw increased vehicle volumes.
In Central Java, vehicle volumes entering Semarang via Kalikangkung GT reached 75,076, a 15.98% increase from the normal 64,732 vehicles. Conversely, traffic leaving Semarang for Jakarta via the same toll gate totalled 53,002 vehicles, an 8.25% decrease from the normal 57,767.
Higher increases were recorded at Banyumanik GT, with 101,540 vehicles heading to Solo during the holiday period—a 17.51% rise from the normal 86,410. Traffic heading to Jakarta via Banyumanik GT reached 76,882 vehicles, up 14.75% from the normal 67,000.
In East Java, traffic at Warugunung GT remained relatively stable, with 76,904 vehicles heading to Surabaya—a slight 0.03% decrease from the normal 76,927. However, traffic heading to Jakarta via Warugunung GT rose 2.59% to 76,226 vehicles from the normal 74,305.
