The Democratic Party’s Central Leadership (DPP) will distribute 63 sacrificial cows to commemorate the 1447 Hijriah Idul Adha. Democratic Party Chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) stated the sacrificial cows would be distributed as processed meat in easily distributable packaging. ‘The DPP has 63 cows, and this is also carried out across Indonesia at provincial, regency, and city leadership councils,’ AHY said at the DPP office in Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, 27 May 2026. AHY added that the sacrificial meat would be distributed to people from all walks of life, with each provincial branch of the party conducting slaughters and distribution. ‘This initiative is accompanied by awareness in commemorating Idul Adha, which not only strengthens our piety towards Allah Almighty but also builds human solidarity across all societal strata,’ he said. AHY stated the Democratic Party felt compelled to collect and distribute sacrificial animals to those in need, calling it a moral movement. Democratic Party Secretary-General Herman Khaeron explained that AHY and Supreme Council Chairman Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) contributed cows to the 63 total. He noted AHY’s cow weighs over one ton. ‘We are slaughtering 63 sacrificial cows, with six symbolically slaughtered at the DPP. One cow is a donation from Supreme Council Chairman SBY,’ Herman said. ‘Another cow weighing over a ton is from Chairman AHY, and two more are sent by the Franchise Chairman and Deputy Chairman, Ibas,’ he added.
