The Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) website reports that the 1447 Hijriah Idul Adha at Istiqlal Mosque will feature the theme “Spirit of Sacrifice in Caring for Environment and Humanity”. The Minister of Religious Affairs made this announcement during a press conference on preparations for the 1447 H Idul Adha prayer at Istiqlal Mosque.

“This year’s theme, particularly in the sermon, is the spirit of sacrifice in caring for the environment and humanity. It aligns with the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ major themes on eco-theology and theology of love,” the Minister stated in Jakarta on Monday, 25 May 2026.

The theme is expected to inspire imams and Indonesian Muslims to strengthen environmental and humanitarian awareness through the sacrifice ritual.
