President Prabowo Subianto will distribute 1,098 cattle for Idul Adha 1447 Hijriyah (2026), with the animals being delivered across all regions of Indonesia.

Deputy State Secretary Juri Ardiantoro told reporters at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday, 26 May 2026: ‘On the occasion of Idul Adha 1447 Hijriyah, the President has agreed to distribute 1,098 sacrificial cattle to be shared across all provinces, regencies, and cities.’

He added that 598 cattle will be distributed to 38 provinces and 514 regencies/cities. Juri explained that some regions receive two cattle because they don’t have animals meeting the presidential standard weight of 800 kilograms to 1.3 tonnes. ‘Each region is supposed to receive one, but 46 regions do not have cattle of that weight, hence they receive two. So all provinces and regencies/cities will receive 598 cattle,’ he said.

Additionally, President Prabowo is donating 500 cattle to educational institutions, Islamic boarding schools (ponpes), religious figures, and community leaders.

The cattle are premium breeds including Simmental, Limousin, Ongole Crossbreed, Brahman, Angus, Bali cattle, Belgian Blue, and Charolais. Juri noted they comply with Islamic requirements for sacrificial animals: over two years old, male, and free from defects. ‘These are high-quality premium cattle,’ he concluded.
