Idul Adha 2025 Holiday: Trans-Java and Bandung Routes Predicted to Be Congested
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk forecasts an increase in vehicle movements out of Jabotabek during the extended Idul Adha 1447 H and Pancasila Day holiday period from Tuesday, 26 May 2026 to Monday, 1 June 2026.
A total of 1,093,067 vehicles are expected to leave Jabotabek during this period, an 8.9% rise compared to the normal traffic volume of 1,003,695 vehicles.
Notably, the traffic surge is forecast to be most concentrated in the eastern direction towards the Trans-Java and Bandung toll roads.
‘Vehicle mobility during the extended holiday period is projected to be dominated by eastbound traffic to Trans-Java and Bandung, accounting for 47.4%,’ said Rivan in a written statement on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.
Westbound traffic towards Merak is expected to contribute 27.1% of journeys, while southbound traffic to the Puncak area accounts for 25.5%.
The vehicle volume forecast is an aggregate of traffic from four main toll gates: Cikupa gate towards Merak, Ciawi gate towards Puncak, Cikampek Utama gate towards Trans-Java, and Kalihurip Utama gate towards Bandung.
According to Rivan, the projected increase in traffic is also influenced by Work From Home (WFH) policies still in place for some companies on Friday, 29 May 2026.
This policy is expected to provide travel flexibility for the public, spreading potential congestion across several days.
To anticipate the traffic surge, Jasa Marga has intensified monitoring on popular toll sections, particularly the Jakarta-Cikampek and Cipularang toll roads towards Trans-Java and Bandung, as well as the Jagorawi toll road towards Puncak.
Jasa Marga is also prepared to implement traffic management measures such as contraflow, as per police discretion, should congestion occur at certain points.
Jasa Marga urges road users to ensure drivers and vehicles are in optimal condition before travelling.
Toll users are also advised to check sufficient electronic wallet balances and adhere to traffic regulations for safety during the extended holiday period.
