PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk will distribute nearly 100 sacrificial animals across various regions in Indonesia for the celebration of Idul Adha 1447 Hijriyah (H). The initiative aims to enhance piety, draw closer to Allah SWT, and demonstrate social concern for fellow citizens.

The sacrificial animals are distributed to communities near Waskita Karya’s headquarters in Jakarta and strategic project areas, including Aceh, South Sumatra, Sukabumi, Yogyakarta, Central Kalimantan, the Nusantara Capital City (IKN), and South Sulawesi.

Corporate Secretary Ermy Puspa Yunita stated that the sacrificial animals consist of tens of cattle and goats meeting health standards, accompanied by Animal Health Certificates (SKKH). “Through this year’s Idul Adha sacrificial animal distribution, Waskita Karya is committed to instilling social values and strengthening ties with communities around project sites. Sacrificing is not just about sharing meat, but also conveying messages of compassion, togetherness, and care through tangible, beneficial actions,” she said in an official statement.

As a state-owned enterprise with over 65 years of experience in construction, Waskita Karya has contributed to building and renovating several major mosques across Indonesia, which serve as community worship centres during Idul Adha prayers. These include Jakarta’s Istiqlal Mosque, Banda Aceh’s Baiturrahman Grand Mosque, Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Solo, Semarang’s Baiturrahman Grand Mosque, and Surabaya’s Al-Akbar National Mosque, all capable of accommodating up to 200,000 worshippers.

“The construction of these mosques reflects the company’s support in providing representative worship facilities for the Muslim community. We want people to pray with devotion, safety, and comfort,” Ermy added. She noted that in mosque construction projects, Waskita not only focuses on structural quality but also considers historical and architectural value to preserve their original identity.

The Baiturrahman Grand Mosque in Banda Aceh, established in 1612, retains its architectural character with design elements inspired by the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, Saudi Arabia. The mosque, which can accommodate over 24,000 worshippers, features 12 giant umbrellas and rows of date palms in its courtyard, enhancing its resemblance to the Prophet’s Mosque. It remains one of Banda Aceh’s primary religious and cultural tourism destinations.
